Journal prompts to spark reflection

The days are getting warmer and longer, which can only mean one thing: spring is finally on its way!

We really love this time of year because of the feeling of optimism and renewal it brings. The patterns of our daily lives slowly shift; almost like coming out of hibernation, we move from being curled up under blankets to spending more time in the great outdoors.

It’s also a perfect time to reflect on how our lives are looking compared to what we visualised for ourselves at the start of the year.

We’ve come up with 10 simple journal prompts designed to help you think about your current situation and guide you through whatever the coming months have in store.

We all do journaling differently; some people like to grab a specific notebook and dedicate a set time each day to reflect, while others prefer to jot thoughts down on their phone when they’re out and about. All that’s important is that you take the time to think about you.

And remember: journaling isn’t about defining a checklist of things you have to achieve. Instead, it’s about carving out a personal space designed to help you get to know yourself better. So, here goes:

Looking back on 2023 so far …

The things that I’m most grateful for are …

The most memorable moments I’ve experienced are …

The key lessons I’ve learned are …

Looking forward to the rest of the year …

The message or mantra that I will repeat to myself is …

The things that make me happy and that I should try to do more often are …

When I’m faced with a difficult situation again, I will …

One personal goal I want to achieve is …

Messages to myself …

When I make a mistake, I will be kinder to myself by …

I will extend the same compassion that I show to others to myself by …

I will carve out time for myself by …

Happy writing!
